The product of the chaos of the murk, human / boggart / hob hybrids. Knuckle dragging parasites, hairy armed and hairy backed, no intelligence to reason, just basal instincts, cowardly opportunists, nothing more than bottom-dwelling scum, whose minds only contain junk thoughts, work avoidance, get rich quick schemes and lottery ambitions. Because of what smeln are, the word has also become the most heinous of swear words in The Dark Peak, as in, "you filthy smeln!" There is only one translation to that word in the off-world, and I am not going to repeat it here.
