Onesmoor, done, finally. The views from up there are nothing short of amazing. Will be doing it again.

For once the murk thinned enough to allow tonight's ripperthroat moon to shine like some great retinal burning lantern, quite an impressive and unusual sight. Van noted that his macral degeneration hampered his view somewhat.

A new bar has opened in Hellsborough, which although I have been out with Shad, has monopolised at least some of my time, but have to keep supporting bar number one, so drinking in general has been something of a feature.

The same for Van too, so keeping the research going, as well as still incredibly busy in the off-world and handling expectations of ventures into the Northern regions of the European continent, so you can imagine that I am being thrown from pillar to post at the moment.

Did set out in an attempt at Onesmoor again this afternoon. Failed yet again. Not due to excessive weather conditions, nor fatigue, but failure of my psycmask, or at least warnings of such. As a visitor here (albeit a frequent one), I am compelled by "The Council" to wear a psycmask at all times when in Hellsborough or The Dark Peak. This is for my own safety -- if I venture out far, as I tend to, my location and vital signs are constantly monitored by the organic network.

A pyscmask is also essential to combat effects of the murk and protect against attacks from Morivarid and the like that exist out there -- not that I've ever seen any problems. The hivemind doesn't thrill me much, but you can turn that down to a murmur, so it's not so bad. Anyway, whilst out on my abortive attempt at Onesmoor, spotted a redfront and a swarm of ashpeep -- beautiful sight.

The Xin are a warlike species that exist within The Dark Peak. The nearest clan to Hellsborough is the Stanningxin who reside, unsurprisingly just a little outside Stannington, right on the edge of The Dark Peak. I have never met one, but Van in his Hellsborough Chronicles met a number of them and indeed became friends with several, despite their warlike tendencies. I found a fascinating article describing and detailing their possible genesis, which presumably began after the demise of the stinger. Enjoy :)
